Entertainment: Steve Carey and Bruce Beswick (convenors of the competition) will announce the winner of The (Very) Short Film Showcase and screen some short excerpts of Ulysses- or Joycerelated films. In addition, we are pleased to announce that The Racker (Peter Donnelly) will again perform for Bloomsday. He has his own ideas for a screenplay….Racker was a hit at the Celtic Club recently, so it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet this treasure of the Dublin Joyce scene – a reacaire in Irish, a clan poet, a ballad monger, a vernacular poet,   and a comedian who will speak to your heart and funny-bone.

When: 5.30 for 6pm.  Guests will be served in time for the evening performance.

Where: The very elegant Watermark Restaurant, 800 Bourke Street, Docklands (at the corner of Enterprize Walk and Victoria Harbour Promenade.  It’s right on the water behind Etihad Stadium. If you are coming from the seminar, you will walk by the water, 5 minutes maximum, along the Victoria Harbour promenade; if you have to cross a road you’ve gone too far. Closest tram is the Free Circle Tram 35  or the Wattle Park/Docklands tram No. 70. (get off at Etihad Stadium).

Cost: $45 entitles one person to a main course ( alternating serves of either salmon, or chicken (a risotto will be available for vegetarians) and to a sharing plate for dessert.

Drinks at bar prices. Happy Hour runs from 5.00pm until 8.00pm with $5 beverages – tap house beer  –  pint, house wine and basic spirits.

Menu: 

Mains:  Each table will be provided with alternating serves of Pan-roasted Salmon, with classic Nicoise salad;  and Roasted Chicken Breast served with chat potatoes, Chorizo, Red Onion and Roquette. Vegetarians need to register their requirements online or by phoning 03 9898 2900, and they will be provided with or Mushroom Risotto with fresh herbs and shaved parmesan.

Note: To expedite service and ensure we are in plenty of time for the play, The Reel James Joyce, at 8pm, mains will occur promptly at six. Negotiation may be required among diners. Both fish and chicken are gluten free options.

Dessert: A sharing platter with mini Lemon Tarts, White Chocolate and Raspberry Cheesecake, Hazelnut Chocolate Brownie, Frangelico Crème Brûlée.
